How can I install/uninstall ProxyWay?
To install the program:
- Make Internet connection.
- Download the program from the ProxyWay.com http://www.proxyway.com/www/downloads/
For your safety don't use third-party sites for downloading.
- To start installation, run ProxyWay.exe or run the "Add/Remove Programs" utility from Windows Control Panel, click the Install button and select ProxyWay.exe.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
To uninstall the program:
- Exit the program - select Exit from the program tray menu.
- Choose Start | Programs | ProxyWay | Uninstall ProxyWay or run the "Add/Remove Programs" utility from Windows Control Panel, select ProxyWay string in the list of installed programs and press the Add/Remove button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.

Can I use ProxyWay if I connect to the Internet through LAN proxy server?
Yes. If you want to surf thru ProxyWay => your local proxy, it could be several situations:
• If your proxy server supports NAT (Network Address Translation), you should set up Default Gateway in your network card properties (You should use the IP of your local proxy server as default gateway).
In ProxyWay:
Select Proxy => Connections
Select the browser you are using and click the "Enable redirect service" button.
Note: You don't need to set up tunneling for checking and updating.
• If your proxy server doesn't support NAT but supports HTTPS or SOCKS you need:
add your local proxy server to the proxy list manually;
check it;
click the "Modify" button and select HTTPS or SOCKS protocol type (You can't select HTTP
as it doesn't support tunneling);
select Proxy => Settings and select "Use proxy tunnel for proxy checking and proxy list updating";
enter IP of the computer that is used as a local proxy server, select the necessary protocol type and enter the proper port number;
You need to add your local proxy server in all proxy services on the first position.
• If your local proxy server doesn't support HTTPS, SOCKS you can't use
a bundle of ProxyWay and your local proxy. But you can use only
ProxyWay for your PC (if you have direct connection to the
Internet(router)) or ProxyWay instead of your local proxy server.
We also recommend you to see ProxyWay Log Viewer.
Using ProxyWay Log Viewer, you can track and monitor ProxyWay activities that occur
while you are surfing the Internet. In logs you can see all requests and determine
if you are surfing through proxies or not.

I purchased 1-year ProxyWay subscription and activated the program using the Activation key. I reinstalled the program and try to activate it but get the message "Wrong Activation key". What's happened?
After you activated the program with your activation key, your Activation key gets the registered status and can't be used for activation repeatedly. If you need to activate ProxyWay again, please contact us and we'll reset your registered status and you can activate the program again. Please e-mail us the following information: Name, Order ID, e-mail you entered while purchasing the subscription.

How do I start/exit ProxyWay?
To start the program, double-click the ProxyWay tray icon or click the "Start" button and choose "ProxyWay" from the list of programs. By default, ProxyWay is starting up with Windows. This option may be changed to user preference: double-click the ProxyWay tray icon and click the Proxy button  to open Proxy module window, select Proxy | Settings and enable/disable Start with Windows option.
To exit the program, select "Exit" item in ProxyWay tray menu.

How do I know the program proxy connection status?
ProxyWay tray icon indicates the program proxy connection status.

How can I add new proxy servers to the program proxy list?
You can find free proxy lists on the Internet. Here is a list of some sites where you can find free proxy server lists.
Using the Update proxy list option, you can automatically add new proxies to your proxy list.
- Double-click the ProxyWay tray icon or right-click the ProxyWay tray icon and select the Open main window item.
- Click the Proxy button in the toolbar .
- Select Proxy |Proxy list |Update proxy list.
- Specify what url(s) you want to use to download proxy list update. You can update proxy list using different urls/sites simultaneously.
To add url(s) for proxy list updating:
- Enter proxy list url.
- Enter IP column number, port column number (for proxy lists in the form of table). If you want to add information about proxy location, click "Add country column" and enter country column number.
- Click "Add to list" button.
- To update proxy list immediately - click the Update button.
For auto update (Scheduler):
- Select Proxy | Settings| Proxy list update settings.
- Turn the Scheduler on*.
- Set when and how often you want to run Auto update.
- Click the Apply button.
* By default, proxy list update scheduler is off.
To add a new proxy server (manually) *:
- Double-click the ProxyWay tray icon.
- Click the Proxy button in the toolbar .
- Select Proxy | Proxy list.
- Use the Add button or right-click on the table and select add in the context menu.
- Fill in IP and Port fields.
- Click OK.
To add a group of proxies using copy/paste commands * (from the proxy lists with the following format - ex. 1111.111.11.11:80 (should be one string with colon between ip and port) = ip:port):
- Connect the web site with the proxy list.
- Select and copy the necessary proxy(ies).
- Click the ProxyWay tray menu and select the Open main window item.
- Click the Proxy button in the toolbar .
- Select Proxy | Proxy list.
- Right-click on the table and select paste in the context menu.
* In trial version you can't add more than 20 proxies in the proxy list.
Note: To use proxy in service, check it first.
If Auto Check proxy option is on (see Settings), all manually added proxies are checked automatically.

Can I update proxy list automatically?
You can find free proxy lists on the Internet. Here is a list of some sites where you can find free proxy server lists.

- Enter IP column number, port column number (for proxy lists in the form of table).
Columns' numbers for proxy IP and port are usually as you see them. So for proxy4free.com IP column number - 1 and port column number - 2. If you want to add information about proxy location, click "Add country column" and enter country column number.
For proxy lists in IP:port format you don't have to worry about columns' numbers.
- Click "Add to list" button.
- To update proxy list immediately - click the Update button.
For auto update (Scheduler):
- Select Proxy | Settings| Proxy list update settings.
- Turn the Scheduler on*.
- Set when and how often you want to run Auto update.
- Click the Apply button.
* By default, proxy list update scheduler is off.
In trial version you can't add more than 20 proxies in the proxy list.

How do I configure my browser to work using ProxyWay?
ProxyWay supports a wide variety of Web applications and most types of Internet protocols allowing users to surf the web. Furthermore, ProxyWay can be used as a simple Internet gateway.
Before using ProxyWay, you will need to modify a few configuration entries in your browser/application.
Configuring applications to work with ProxyWay:
- Browser configuration using ProxyWay.
Using the Connection folder you can automatically adjust the following browsers to use ProxyWay:
- Manual configuration.
To configure another browser or application to surf the web using ProxyWay, please use the documentation for this browser or application to set the following proxy server settings: Proxy Server address "127.0.0.1" (if ProxyWay is installed on your computer) or IP address of the computer ProxyWay is installed on (if ProxyWay is installed on another computer and is using as a gateway) and port = ProxyWay Redirect Service port * = 81(by default)**. Does ProxyWay work with AOL Instant Messenger?
ProxyWay supports a wide variety of web applications (web browsers, Instant Messengers, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), etc.) and most types of Internet protocols.
You can congigure AOL Instant Messenger to work through ProxyWay.
- Start up AOL Instant Messenger.
- Click on Cancel.
- Click on the "Setup" button.
- Click the "Connections" button.
- In the connection preferences window click on the "Connect using Proxy" box.
- In the necessary proxy field(s), set Host=127.0.0.1, port=ProxyWay Redirect Service port * = 81(by default)**.
- Select the protocol type of proxies you will use.
- Click OK

- Start up AOL Instant Messenger.
- Select My AIM|Edit options| Edit Preferences.
- Select Sign on/off category.
- Click the "Connections" button.
- In the connection preferences window click on the "Connect using Proxy" box.

- Select the protocol type of proxies you will use.
- Click OK

How can I create a proxy cascade using ProxyWay?
Using the program you can create proxy services with any number of proxy servers in the cascade (supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5) to provide IP address security and tunnel Internet activity through proxy servers. In the chain you can "mix" various types proxies.
Note: You cannot use HTTP proxy at the beginning or in the middle of cascade (chain) as it doesn't support tunneling.
To add a new service (proxy chain):
- Double-click the ProxyWay tray icon or right-click the ProxyWay tray icon and select the open main window item.
- Click the Proxy button in the toolbar .
- Select Proxy => Service Manager.
- Click the Add button or right-click in any point of table and select add from the context menu to open Add/modify service window.
- Select Service protocol type. Service protocol type must be the same as the type of the last proxy in cascade.
- If you want to set this service to be used as Default Service, click the checkbox next to the Default Service field.
- Choose what proxies will be included in the "All proxies" table.
If there is a check mark in the Use only anonymous proxies field, only anonymous proxies will be used to make proxy service.
- Add proxy(ies) you want to use in the service from "All proxies" table to "Proxy cascade" table. You cannot use HTTP proxy at the beginning or in the middle of cascade (chain) as it doesn't support tunneling. Random button allows you to include in the service randomly chosen proxies (from the "All proxies" table).
- Click OK.
* All proxies table contains the list of checked (good) proxies.
To select a group of proxies click and hold down Ctrl or Shift button and choose the proxies.
Note: the number of proxies in the proxy cascade is unlimited, but make sure the type of the last proxy in cascade is the same with the service protocol type.
You cannot use HTTP proxy at the beginning or in the middle of cascade (chain) as it doesn't support tunneling.
In trial version you can't add more than 5 services in the proxy service list.

What is the maximum logs number in ProxyWay Log Viewer? Can I change it?
The number of logs that can be stored at once is limited in Logs settings.
When logs number reaches the maximum number allowed in Logs settings, new events overwrite the oldest events.
By default, the maximum logs number is 500. Minimum logs number is not less than 100 events.

To specify what events will be logged:
- Click the ProxyWay tray menu and select the Open main window item.

Yes. You can automatically clear ProxyWay Logs Viewer on exit.

I want to monitor ProxyWay activity but Logs Viewer is empty.
- Probably, you haven't chosen events to be recorded in the Logs settings.
To specify what events will be logged, open Logs settings window and select what events you want to be saved in the Log Viewer.
- Make sure you don't filter the events you want to view (Logs Viewer window) - there is a check mark next to the necessary event(s) (Request log, Error log, Update log, Check log).
- Check the Output option is on (Logs Viewer window).

To determine Default service:
- Double-click the ProxyWay tray icon.
- Click the Proxy button in the toolbar .
- Select Proxy|Service Manager.
- Click Add or Modify button or right-click in any point of table and select add or modify from the context menu to open Add/modify service window to add.
- If you want this service is used as Default Service, click the check box next to the Default Service field.
- Click OK.

- Click twice in the D column (Service is default) of service you want to use as Default.
- If the Default Service already exists, you will be asked if you want to change the Default Service.

You need to stop the service before modification.
There is one Default Service for each request type.
To change Default Service:
- Double-click the ProxyWay tray icon.

- Select the service you don't want to use as Default and click the Modify button or right-click on the service and select modify from the context menu to open Add/modify service window.

All the settings are OK but I can't connect to the Internet using ProxyWay?
Make sure you follow all steps of Getting started section in program help or on-line help
See ProxyWay Log Viewer to monitor ProxyWay activities. In logs you can see all requests and determine if you are surfing through proxies or not.
Check your Internet connection and make sure your ISP doesn't have any technical problems.
Make sure there are no bad or slow proxies in the proxy service you are using.
Check if the service you created is marked as Default Service and started.
Make sure the type of proxy service you created is supported by your application.
