How can I clear recent documents automatically?

How can I clear My Recent Documents folder manually?
To clear My Recent Documents folder (delete recent documents) for XP Start Menu:
Right-click 'Start' button and select "Properties".
Select 'Start menu' tab.
Click 'Customize'.
Click 'Advanced' tab.
To clear recent documents, open/save MRU list and visited urls, click 'Clear' button.
Click OK.
To clear My Recent Documents folder (delete recent documents) for For Classic Start Menu:
Right-click 'Start' button and select "Properties".
Select 'Start menu' tab.
Click 'Customize'.
To clear recent documents, open/save MRU list and visited urls, click 'Clear' button.
Click OK.
Note: Your most recently used documents are removed from 'My Recent Documents' folder but it doesn't delete recent documents from your hard disk.

What do I do to display My Recent Documents folder?
To Display the My Recent Documents Folder on the Start menu:
Right-click 'Start' and select 'Properties'. Or, right-click on the TaskBar and select
'Properties'.
Shoose 'Start Menu' tab.
Click 'Customize'.
Click 'Advanced' tab.
Under Recent documents, put check mark for 'List my most recently opened documents' and click OK.
Note: next time you open 'Start', you'll see My Recent Documents list.
