ProxyWay Extra is proxy server software that provides advanced proxy management system:

Proxy servers are added to the program proxy list where they can be checked for state, speed, anonymity and location using proxy list checker module.

What do I do to download free proxy lists from different proxy sites simultaneously?
Using ProxyWay Extra you can easily download proxy lists from different proxy sites (HTTP proxy sites, HTTPS proxy sites, SOCKS proxy sites, SOCKS4 proxy sites, SOCKS4A proxy sites, SOCKS5 proxy sites, SOCKS5 with Authentication proxy servers sites, anonymous proxy sites).
You can set the program to download proxies lists from different proxy sites simultaneously - just put the check mark in "Use this url for proxy list update" column, for urls you want to use for proxy list Auto Update.
Using the Update proxy list option, you can automatically add new proxies to your proxy list from the proxy lists in:
• the form of table - proxy list is formed as a table using special html tags;
• IP:port format (e.g. 155.255.111.22:80);
• "only IP" format (e.g. 155.255.111.22) - for proxy pages with the same port number for all proxies if port information isn't placed near each proxy IP (e.g. only on the top of the page). In this case, if no proxy port information was found while proxy list updating, added ability to set a default proxy port for certain url (in program Settings).
To update proxy list using Proxy Finder:
Double-click the ProxyWay Extra tray icon or right-click the ProxyWay Extra tray icon and select the Open main window item.
Click the Proxy button in the toolbar.
Select Proxy => Proxy list => Update proxy list.
You can update proxy list using different proxy sites simultaneously.
Specify what proxy site url(s) you want to use for proxy list updating:
- import proxy sites urls list from file
- add proxy sites url(s) manually
Import proxy sites urls list:
• To simplify proxy list updating, you can use our list of third-party proxy sites. Just click "Import" in "Update proxy list" window and select SiteList.txt.
Add proxy sites url(s) for proxy list update manually:
• Click the "Add to List" button and specify what proxy site url you want to use for proxy list updating.
• Enter the full page url where the proxy list is located (ex. for www.proxy4free.com you should enter http://www.proxy4free.com/page1.html or http://www.proxy4free.com/page2.html etc.)
• Enter IP column number, port column number (for proxy lists in the form of table).
Columns' numbers for proxy IP and port are usually as you see them. So for proxy4free.com IP column number - 1 and port column number - 2.
• If you want the proxy site url is used for proxy list Auto Update, put the check mark in "Use this url for proxy list update".
• To add information about proxy location, click "Add country column" and enter country column number.
• To add proxies only from certain countries, select the "Only Proxies from Specified Countries" option and select the necessary countries from the list. If you want to add all proxies, select the "Proxies from All Countries" option
• for proxy pages with the same port number for all proxies if port information isn't placed near each proxy IP (e.g. only on the top of the page) and if no proxy port information was found while proxy list updating, you can set a default proxy port for certain url.
• Click "Save" button.
Note: For proxy lists in IP:port format you don't have to worry about columns' numbers
If you don't have or don't need proxy port column or proxy IP column, you can set up column number to zero
You can set up the same column for proxy port and proxy IP (if necessary)
To save your proxy sites list, click "Export" button to export urls list to *.txt file (in special ProxyWay format).
Select proxy sites url(s) you want to use for proxy list updating (PUT the check mark in U column). You can use "+" and "-" buttons to select/deselect all proxy sites urls in the list
- to update proxy list immediately, click the Update button.
- for proxy list auto update (to update proxy list on a regular basis) you can use "Update proxy list" scheduler
Note: In trial version you can't add more than 100 proxies in the proxy list.

How can I download proxy lists from proxy sites automatically?
Using Proxy list update settings you can turn Update Proxy list Scheduler on/off to enable/disable adding new proxies from different proxy sites to the proxy list automatically.
To enable Proxy List Auto Update:
Click the ProxyWay Extra tray menu and select the Open main window item.
Click the Proxy button in the toolbar.
Select Proxy => Settings => Proxy list scheduler
In "Run proxy list update" area turn the Scheduler*.
Set when and how often you want to run proxy list auto update.
Click the Apply button.
* By default, proxy list update scheduler is off.

Does ProxyWay allow to download proxy lists in different formats?
Using ProxyWay Extra you can use different proxy list sites for proxy list updating
Different proxy sites offer proxy lists in different formats:
- proxy ip:port without country in plain text format
- proxy ip:port with country in plain text format (country is separated from ip:port by tab)
- proxy ip:port with proxy country in table format (ip:port in one column, country in another one)
- proxy ip, proxy port and proxy country in different columns in table format
- "only IP" format for proxy pages with the same port number for all proxies if port information isn't placed near each proxy IP nut is placed e.g. only on the top of the page
If no proxy port information was found while proxy list updating, added ability to set a default proxy port for certain url (in program Settings).
ProxyWay finds information about proxy country even if proxy list contains information about proxy IP and port in the same column.
If you update proxy list using Proxy Finder or import proxies from a local file and if you don't have or don't need proxy port column or proxy IP column, you can set up column number to zero.
What do I do to download proxies only from certain countries?
To add proxies only from certain countries, you should select the "Only Proxies from Specified Countries" option and select the necessary countries from the list. If you want to add all proxies, select the "Proxies from All Countries" option

A proxy server is a kind of buffer between your computer and the Internet resource(s) you are accessing. The data you request come to the proxy first, and only then it transmits the data to you. A proxy server receives a request for an Internet service (such as a web page request) from a user. If the proxy server is also a cache server, it can use its local cache of previously downloaded web pages to provide the page without forwarding the request to the Internet. If the page is not in the cache, the proxy server uses one of its own IP addresses to request the page from the server on the Internet. When the page is returned, the proxy server relates it to the original request and forwards it to the user.

What anonymity levels of HTTP proxy servers exist?
- Transparent proxy - these proxies are not anonymous. They don't hide IP-address of a client and let a web server know that you are surfing through a proxy server. The task of such proxies, as a rule, is information caching and/or support of Internet access for several computers via single connection. Such proxies are not applicable for security and privacy while surfing on net. You can use them only for network speed improvement.
- Anonymous - these proxies don't show your real IP but change the request fields so it is very easy to detect that you are using proxy.
- High Anonymous - these proxy servers do not pass an IP-address of a client and don't send any variables indicating that you are using proxy server to host and look like real browser.

Why should I use proxy servers?
Speed improvement: Proxy servers accumulate and save files that are most often requested by thousands of Internet users in a special database, called cache. Therefore, proxy servers are able to increase the speed of your connection to the Internet. The cache of a proxy server may already contain information you need by the time of your request, making it possible for the proxy to deliver it immediately.
Security and privacy. Anonymous proxy servers hide your IP address saving you from vulnerabilities concerned with it. So you can safely surf the web and your information will never be used by hackers and spammers.
Sometimes you may encounter problems while accessing to web server when server administrator restricted access from your IP or even from wide IP range (for example restricting access from certain countries or geographical regions). You can try to access those pages using an anonymous proxy server.

What is HTTP proxy server?
HTTP proxy server is a proxy allowing to work on the Internet with HTTP and (not always) FTP protocols. It can carry out caching of information downloaded from the Internet.
Now HTTP proxy servers are the most widespread. Their support (ability to use them) is included into many programs: browsers, download managers etc. However, their support is not realized at a level of an operating system – in order to use them, you should configure all programs, which should use proxies, in an appropriate way.
HTTP proxy servers have several anonymity levels.

What is SOCKS proxy server?
SOCKS is a networking proxy protocol that enables hosts on one side of a SOCKS server to gain full access to hosts on the other side of the SOCKS server without requiring direct IP-reachability. SOCKS is often used as a network firewall, redirecting connection requests from hosts on opposite sides of a SOCKS server. The SOCKS server authenticates and authorizes requests, establishes a proxy connection, and relays data between hosts.
There are two major versions of SOCKS proxy servers: SOCKSv4 and
SOCKSv5.

What is a proxy chain?
A Proxy chain is a connection of 2 or more proxy servers. ProxyWay is free proxy server software (proxy freeware) allows to work with any Internet service through a proxy chain of SOCKS or HTTP proxies. What are web proxy sites?
Web proxy sites (CGI proxy sites) are like buffers between you and other web resources. When you request a web page directly, you are exposing your details to the server you connect to. Web proxies (CGI proxies) are web sites which allow a user to access other sites through them. A user visits a web proxy site and then requests a web page, a file or other resources available on other sites. Web proxy sends this request to the necessary site, gets "answer" and returns it to user.
