Anonymous proxy surfing software
Why you need anonymous proxy surfing software
Internet is full of potential risk to your privacy and security. Every time you surf the web you leave traces of your Internet activity that can reveal your real-life identity. Any web resource you access can gather and record usage information about you such as your IP address, location, time of day, browser type, browser language, software configuration, operating system you are using, web pages last visited and other information that you might want to keep confidential. If you are surfing through proxies, you must be sure they really hide your IP. Some of proxies (eg. transparent) are not anonymous - they don't hide your IP as they send your IP in environment variables to the target site.

Anonymous proxy surfing
ProxyWay Privacy Test shows how much of your private information can be collected by web sites when you visit them - your current IP Address, browser and computer information. You can also check if Proxy you are using is really anonymous or not.
Need to check IP address, get detailed IP Whois information, determine IP or Domain geographic location (geo IP Location including Country, State/Province,City, etc.), check if the proxy you are using is truly anonymous, detect how private you are while surfing? Visit IP check
Why you should concern about anonymous surfing
Using your IP address, computer and browser information hackers, identity thieves, spammers and other people who want to get access to your personal information can monitor your browsing habits and activities, spy upon you, steal personal information and exploit security holes in your system to cause damage to your computer. It is possible to restrict accessing any information or provide customized content to specific IP.

How proxy software hides your IP address
When you visit a web site directly, your IP address is visible. However if you visit a web site using proxy software, proxy software allows you to hide your real IP from the web sites you visit. Using the program you can create proxy services with any number of proxy servers in the chain (supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5) to provide IP address security and tunnel Internet activity through proxy servers.
Some proxy tools allow you to change proxy services per time, per connection to ensure the absolute security; automatically stop or change service if the current service is marked as bad/slow; automatically determine and remove bad proxy servers, specify proxies to be used in proxy chains and much more...
Can my ISP monitor my online activities if I use anonymous proxy surfing software?
As ISPs handle huge volumes of web traffic all the time, they are limited in monitoring logs. They don't have the computational resources to read and analyze the text of every web site you visit. But they can, however, keep a log of the websites you visit.
When you're using proxy software and surfing through proxies you only connect to a proxy server. All websites you visit go through this proxy, so to your ISP it looks like you only visit one web site. But if the ISP really wanted to watch you and they agree to waste time, resources and money for analysing all your traffic, they could tap your Internet connection and actually read everything that goes back and forth. Since the data sent to proxies is not encrypted, someone who listens to the line could see what sites you're visiting. But if you visit HTTPS web sites, all information between you and a target web site is encrypted.

Proxy Question
The proxy software logs show that I am surfing through proxies but the IP address test shows my real IP.
As you may know not all proxies hide an IP address. Transparent proxies are not applicable for private surfing as they do not hide your IP address. If you need to change your IP address, you should use anonymous or high anonymous proxies.
