ProxyWay Proxy Finder searches for HTTP proxy lists, HTTPS proxy lists and SOCKS (SOCKS4, SOCKS4A, SOCKS5, SOCKS5 with Authentication) proxies lists on the Internet. Just specify proxy web site URL(s) where proxy lists are located and Proxy Finder will automatically find proxy server information. What is a proxy chain?
A proxy chain is a connection of two or more proxy servers. ProxyWay allows to work with any Internet service through a proxy chain of HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS proxies. Using ProxyWay you can create proxy chains (proxy services) with any number of proxy servers (supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, SOCKS4A, SOCKS5, SOCKS5 with Authentication, CGI-HTTP) to provide IP address security and tunnel Internet activity through proxy servers.
How can I create a proxy chain?
You can create a proxy chain in your browser or you can use ProxyWay that provides an easy and convenient way for proxy chaining.
How many proxies can I add in a proxy chain?
You can add as many proxies as you want in the proxy chain. But the more proxies you have in your proxy chain, the slower your connection is.
What proxies can I add in a proxy chain?
In proxy chain you can "mix" various types of proxies (HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, SOCKS5 and web proxy). But you should follow some rules while proxy chaining:
• If you have two or more proxy servers in a proxy chain, HTTP proxy can't be used at the begining or in the middle of proxy chain. If you want to create a proxy chain for HTTP request, you should add HTTPS and/or SOCKS proxy servers at first and put HTTP proxy only at the end of the chain as HTTP doesn't support tunneling.
• The number of proxies in the proxy chain is unlimited, but make sure the type of the last proxy in chain is the same with the chain protocol type:
- If you want to create a proxy chain for HTTP request, you should add HTTPS and/or SOCKS proxy servers at first and put HTTP proxy only at the end of the chain as HTTP doesn't support tunneling.
[one or more SOCKS proxy and/or HTTPS] => HTTP proxy
- To create proxy chain for HTTPS requests, the last proxy in the proxy chain must be HTTPS
- To create proxy chain for SOCKS requests, the last proxy in the proxy chain must be SOCKS
How can I organize proxies chain using ProxyWay?
To create a new proxy chain (proxy service)*:
Click the Proxy button in the toolbar.
Select Proxy => Service Manager.
Click the Add button or right-click in any point of table and select add from the context menu to open Add/modify service window.
Add proxy/proxies* you want to use in the proxy chain from "All proxies" table to "Proxy cascade" table.
Random button allows you to include randomly chosen proxies (from "All proxies" table) in proxy chain (proxy service).
Note:
- You cannot use HTTP proxy at the beginning or in the middle of proxy chain (proxy service) as it doesn't support tunneling.
- To hide your IP you should use anonymous and high anonymous proxies.
- If you use CGI proxy in proxy chain, see How you can organize surfing through CGI proxies
- If there is a check mark in the Use only anonymous proxies field, only anonymous proxies will be used to create proxy chain (proxy service).
* All proxies table contains the list of checked (good) proxies ("unknown" and "bad" proxies are not included).
** To select a group of proxies click and hold down Ctrl or Shift button and choose the proxies.
Note: the number of proxies in the proxy chain (proxy service) is unlimited, but make sure the type of the last proxy in proxy chain (proxy service) is the same with the proxy chain (proxy service) protocol type.
Select Protocol type. Proxy chain protocol type must be the same as the type of the last proxy in chain.
If you want to set this proxy chain (proxy service) to be used as Default Service, click the checkbox next to the Default Service field. If "Mark new created service as default" option in program Settings is on, a new created proxy chain (proxy service) is marked as default automatically.
Click OK.
* In trial version you can't add more than 5 proxy chains (proxy services).
How can I create proxy chainining (proxy service) with CGI proxy (web proxy)?
ProxyWay allows you to hide your real IP from the web sites you visit. Using the program you can create proxy services with any number of proxy servers in the chain (supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, SOCKS5, SOCKS5 with Auth, CGI proxy) to provide IP address security and tunnel Internet activity through proxy servers. In the chain you can "mix" various types proxies. CGI proxies can be used alone or in a proxy chain with other types of proxy servers (HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS).
How you can organize surfing through CGI proxies:
1. CGI proxy only.
2. Proxy chains with CGI proxies:
HTTP proxy -> CGI proxy
HTTPS and/or SOCKS proxies -> HTTP proxy -> CGI proxy
Note:
• If you use CGI proxy (web proxy) in a chain, it should be the last one in the chain.
• You must use HTTP proxy before CGI proxy
• You can't use HTTP proxy at the beginning or in the middle of cascade (chain) before SOCKS and HTTPS as it doesn't support tunneling
How can I check proxy chain (proxy service) functionality and anonymity using ProxyWay?
Choose the proxy chain (proxy chains) you want to check and click the Check button.
How can I change proxy chains (change proxy services)?
Using different ProxyWay options you can easily change alone proxies or proxy chains.
Change service (per time, per request) - changes proxy chains depending on your needs to ensure the absolute security. If this option is on, ProxyWay automatically changes proxy chains (proxy services) used for surfing every time when the selected event happens. ProxyWay uses for changing only proxy chains that are marked as "Service in Use" in the Service list.
Changing proxy chain rules:
- change proxy/ proxy chain per time - proxy chain (proxy service) will be changed after given interval of time (min - 1 min)
- change proxy/ proxy chain per request - proxy chain (proxy service) will be changed after given number of requests (min - 1 request)
Proxy chain selection
When ProxyWay changes the current proxy chain that is used for surfing, one of the following methods of selection for the next proxy chain (from proxy chains of necessary type that are marked as "In use") can be used:
- random - select random proxy chain (proxy service) from the services marked as "Service in use"
- response time - select the proxy chain (proxy service) depending on the response time (from services marked as "Service in use")
- in order - select proxy chain (proxy service) in order (from the services marked as "Service in use")
Stop surfing on failure - the program stops operating if the current proxy chain (proxy service) failed
Mark new created service as default - turn this option on if you want to mark a new created proxy chain (proxy service) as default.
Service fails if one proxy in cascade failed - proxy chain is marked as bad if one proxy in chain failed. If this option is off, bad proxy will be removed from the proxy chain (proxy service) and the proxy chain (proxy service) will continue operating.
Use another service if current service failed - changes the proxy chain if the current proxy chain is marked as bad.
How can change CGI proxies?
Using ProxyWay you can automatically change proxy chains (proxy services) per time, per connection to ensure the absolute security; automatically stop or change service if the current proxy chain (proxy service) is marked as bad/slow, etc.
To change CGI proxies you should create several services with CGI proxies, mark them as "In use" and configure "Change Service" option in program Settings the way you need.
How can I check if I surf through a proxy chain?
To check if you surf through a proxy chain we recommend you to see ProxyWay Log Viewer. Using ProxyWay Log Viewer, you can track and monitor ProxyWay activities that occur while you are surfing the Internet. In logs you can see all requests and determine if you are surfing through proxies or just through ProxyWay Redirect service.
I've created a proxy chain and started it. My logs show that I'm surfing through ProxyWay but IP test shows my real IP.
In logs you can see if all requests go through proxies or just through ProxyWay Redirect service. If you surf through the Redirect service, it means you surf directly (without proxies chain).
To hide your IP address you have to use anonymous or high anonymous proxy/proxies in your proxy chain (proxy service).

• Can my ISP monitor my online activities if I am using ProxyWay?
Because ISPs handle huge volumes of web traffic all the time, they are limited in monitoring logs. They don't have the computational resources to read and analyze the text of every web site you visit. But they can, however, keep a log of the websites you visit. When you're using ProxyWay and surfing through proxies you only connect to a proxy server. All websites you visit go through this proxy, so to your ISP it looks like you only visit one web site. But if the ISP really wanted to watch you and they agree to waste time, resources and money for analysing all your traffic, they could tap your Internet connection and actually read everything that goes back and forth. Since the data sent to proxies is not encrypted, someone who listens to the line could see what sites you're visiting. But if you visit HTTPS web sites, all information between you and a target web site is encrypted.
